Overall experience has been wonderful. Wish I would have known about this on my first deployment. Thank you,”******************************************“I just wanted to send you a short response about your program. It has been really great and the personalized support from each person is awesome. I’ve been blessed with some great supporters. I’ve received a few packages and I really enjoy the letters/emails. It’s nice to have someone to actively write with while we’re out here. Hand writing letters is almost like a lost art especially with social media. That’s why I really like this program and thank you very much for hosting it.”********************************************“Everything is going great!! My sponsors are really chill and very supportive! It’s hard being so busy but just the simple emails and letters really do make a huge difference!! I’m on the downhill of the deployment I’ll be home before I know it!! Have a great day!”************************************************THEY APPRECIATE THE LETTERS, EVEN IF THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO WRITE BACK: “I really thank you all for the support, I just haven’t had time to hand write anyone back. I’ve received so many letters to be honest I’m not really sure where to start anymore!! I’m currently working 1. I’ll try to get letters in the mail soon. It’s just been super hectic”*****************************************“My supporters are doing a great job. We went to the field for a few weeks and when I came back I had a few letters and packages. I’m about to write them some letters back now that we’re back near civilization. Nothing but great things from all of them!”If anyone is going to be in the Auburn, WA area on Saturday, August 1. Auburn August. Fest. I have safely returned home and would like to be removed from the program (so that my supporters may comfort someone else who is far from home). It has been my regrets that I haven’t been able to talk to my supporters. It has been a very taxing deployment and I couldn’t bring myself to talk to anyone. If at all possible, please inform the people who have been assigned to me that I’m terribly sorry and that I hope the next person they get is much better than I was (It would mean a lot to me). Thank you.”THANK YOU to all of our supporters who continue to send smiles and appreciation to our soldiers, especially when they are silent. We often say that those are the ones who need it the most. The long hours, high operational tempo, and the difficult aspects of serving in a war zone all wear on our soldiers emotionally, at a time when they are so far from friends and family. The cards, letters and occasional care packages you send let them know you appreciate all they are going through and that there are people back home who support them and care. It is tough to support a silent Soldier, and you may wonder if they are getting your letters, or even if they matter – THEY DO! One of the best things about our Project Frontlines program is that when you are sending a package to a Frontlines contact, many times the support reaches a Soldier who is not registered with us, and may not be aware of how wonderful and supportive you all are! Project Frontlines is a one- time support opportunity, and does not involve any long term commitment. We do have a lot of units waiting. If you want to provide one- time support, you can sign up here: http: //www. Here are some recent comments from some of our Project Frontlines contacts/groups, so you can see the impact you are having: “First I would like to say to all back home thank you! We appreciate the donations and support from all who has taken their genuine time in supporting us overseas. My group of soldiers and myself are thankful for all that has been sent our way as yall are a blessing to us and I speak for all who are deployed! Everything we receive we share with all of us here and make sure these items do not go to waste. Again we are thankful for all your support and may God Bless you all and America!!!!!”. Thanks so much for putting on this great program. So far I have received 1. With all the items received we have been able to replenish our stock for patient use. We care for patients here on this base as well as wounded soldiers passing through on their way home. I know they appreciate the support as well. We make sure to tell them that they are donations given to us from people back home in the U. S. Great program, I have no complaints.”. I am very pleased to let you know the supporters are very generous in sending the care packages, their thoughts, and prayers. Some of them with personal letters and emails and cards. It is so much more than what I expect for. You guys are amazing and you make it all the difference here in Afghanistan. I also share my care packages by putting them just outside of my office. So as Chaplain, it gives me a great opportunity to minister Soldiers and civilians alike who stop by. I really thank you for giving me that opportunity.”. Unfotunately i do not have envelopes to send replies and give your people my sincerest thank you. Our internet connectivity is very bad out here also so it is terrible that I am not available often. I really appreciate the letters and care packages and share them with my soldiers. They really appreciate them also. Please get this message to your folks as I do not want them to think that i don’t appreciate their efforts and donations. Please continue to do what you guys do for our soldiers who are deployed in harms way and show them they are not forgotten. You truly lifted our spirits and you were a constant reminder that there are people that care for us and believe in what we continue to do over here.”. We appreciate your donation and here is just one example of where our funds go. They wanted to say thank you and now the unit has some entertainment during their down time which was needed very much! What better day to do it then on July 4, 2. We thought it would be great to share a few words from our troops: “My supporters have been some of the most kind and generous people that I have ever met. They are more than happy to send what they can to support not only me, but my platoon. The morale has been raised every- time I see a package. I have been called Santa clause many times because I get to share what they have give . Thank you so much for your organization,”. I wasn’t expecting so many. I look forward to reading my emails and escaping the daily routine and concerns of everyday life out here. It has been a great service to just get emails and have a connection to the outside world. Its weird but one would think it is important to keep your head in the game out here, and you do, but its also not good to only be here 2. We have enjoyed communicating with some of our supporters and find them very interesting. I have shared AAUSS with several of my fellow Marines as they have received amazing support as well. Thank all of you for everything you do for each and every one of us here, believe us when we say we are thankful for you and honored to serve!”. It’s been really great. Thanks for following up withme. Sorry for not replying sooner.”. I have a couple people that have sent me care packages. They have emailed and communicated with me and asked me what I need. I have also received a lot of letters from people who just write me. So, so far everything has been wonderful. I am extremely grateful and pleased with the program.”. In Category: AAUSS News .
